Answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) received from customers and others in the development and testing of the Toll Calculator tool.

Additional questions? Please let us know through the Feedback section or e-mail the Customer Express team directly.

  1. How do I get started?
  2. What are the minimum program requirements with the Toll Calculator?
  3. If I am unable to open any of the buttons or links on the Toll Calculator, what could be the issue?
  4. Why are Fuel costs estimated?

    • Fuel is a calculation of fuel percentage(%) multiplied by the gas price. The Toll Calculator populates the fuel percentage(%) with the current month fuel rate and defaults to a gas price based upon the source point. The gas price from the source point and fuel rates are editable so you can include the numbers you prefer.
  5. What is an editable field?

    • To create an estimated toll and fuel amount, there are numerous market factors that change constantly such as gas price, fuel percentage(%), exchange rate, etc. Many of these fields are editable so you can customize the calculations.
  6. Who do I call if I have questions about the Toll Calculator?

    • Go to either the Contacts section located at the top right of Toll Calculator or the Contacts link at the top of this section.
  7. How often are the fuel rates, tolls, U.S. exchange rate and spot prices updated?

    • Spot prices will be updated daily, for normal work days
    • U.S. exchange rate will be updated as required: we typically will only update this rate to the nearest cent, i.e. $1.05 CDN = $1.00 USD
    • Fuel rates and tolls will be updated monthly, typically on the last business day
  8. Will I get actual costs with the Toll Calculator?

    • The Toll Calculator is designed to represent an accurate “planning” cost for shipping natural gas along our pipelines. TC Energy will do our very best to ensure the information contained and used in this tool is as accurate as possible.
  9. What sources are used in calculating spot prices?
